I appreciated your thoughts and tips on how to approach the mind, body and spirit issues we all share. I especially appreciate your positive attitude, which is infectious. I feel like I have made some real progress in knowing what I want to do in this next phase of my life…great additions to my 28-year plan! By the way, loved today’s blog on Adventure: I’ve got a list for next year that will be lots of fun. Thanks for letting me be a part of your Starting Over at Sixty Adventure…fun!

In reading posts on Starting Over at Sixty, I could see myself. Your writings about being alone vs. loneliness resonated with me. I seriously took-to-heart your advice to battle the loneliness. I got out there, met new people and started volunteering. I stepped out of my comfort zone. There were also the humorous posts that made me laugh. I have been a widow for almost a year now and still log-on to the site for inspiration and, sometimes, a good laugh.

Paula, you have encouraged me in several ways. The first was regarding clothing: I had already changed how I dressed as a single woman. But, you encouraged me to be boldly confident in that change and clean out my closet! It felt great! Also, you recommended planning for stressful times. You had shared that you planned out-of-town trips on weekends you thought might be stressful. I did that and it was great advice! Most importantly, you encouraged me to say “yes” to things as I am figuring out my new life. Saying “yes” to this group was easy, and I think the benefits are just beginning.

Starting Over at Sixty, naturally, means something different for everyone. For me, I'm not really starting over, but  this was a way to improve myself and my confidence. It helped me resolve some fears and most importantly help me to identify how I can spend the rest of my life feeling healthier ..happier and more satisfied. Rome wasn't built in a day!

I often have a hard time sharing information with others, whether I know them or they are strangers to me. Paula, your topics and helpful ideas were just what I needed to give myself a kick and I have started to evaluate aspects about my life that I might want to change and will strive to improve my well being inside and outside. Thanks Paula!
